Single Mother’s Chronicles: Episode 3

Friends, how to pick them? The people we allow in our lives are very important because those same people can either add value to our good blessings or add to the things that don’t belong. Recently, in the world of Kayesha, I had to take a right turn to get on the path of which God had planned for me. This ‘turn’ opened me up spiritually to a lot of necessary things that God had been showing me, but I was blind to them because they weren’t things I wanted to see. God will alert us when He doesn’t approve of someone and it’s up to us to take His warning and run with it. Take note, God knows all, and He will not lead us the wrong way, so if He doesn’t want particular people in our lives, then He has a great reason of why, so obey His command and keep it moving; believe me, I know. Okay, back to where I left off, so this spiritual journey had me removing people from out of my life and I was torn with that decision because some of those people, I had a strong connection with and didn’t want to let them go, but God had other plans, He showed me small glimpses of why He wanted them out of my life; our friendship was one-sided, with me being the full-time friend, you know, by being there whenever they needed me, whether that was listening to them or giving advice, actively praying for them, and so forth; and when it was my turn for the upliftment, no one was around, I didn’t have their support nor the acknowledgement of them caring, so that was enough for me to understand why God wanted me to move on; they weren’t bad people, they were just bad friends lol. Friendship involves equality, putting in the time to get to know each other, letting go of the past, caring about each other’s feelings and most importantly loving and showing love to each other. These are the same things that should have been taught to us when we were young, but as life travels with time, we get lost in relationships and all that we learned somehow goes out the window. We shouldn’t allow circumstances to change us in a negative way, but allow God to use those circumstances to be a beautiful turn around for our testimony.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,

“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29-11

P.S. The best friend to have is Jesus, His love is like no other, because there is no other who can love us like He does.
